“Quartz" originated from the word “querkluftertz“ which means cross-vein core. Quartz has different names primarily based on the crystal structure or color of the particular stone. Several gemstones are forms of quartz. It is a combination of silicon–oxygen tetrahedral, with oxygen being shared between the two tetrahedral.
